Back in 2019 I started working at Milwyn Casting in West Molesey. Working here has benefitted me in a plethora of ways and I thoroughly enjoy it.
The skills I have gained here have and will continue to benefit my personal practice as an artist and I will be forever grateful for my employment here. I have learnt various methods and skilled mould making for both large and small sculptures. I can now say I can wax work to a highly skilled and professional level, making, repairing, and chasing waxes. During my time here I have also dipped my toes into the metal work. learning the basics of welding and metal chasing.
I have had the opportunity to work with brilliantly skilled artists and help them achieve their bronze sculpture dreams. Some returning customers with their work well known by us and their audience, as well as customers completely new to the process. It is always inspiring to see the variety of work that comes through our door and leaves upon completion and I don't think I could tire of seeing the transformation from the initial sculpture an artists brings in to the stunning bronzes that they get transformed into.
